The skin is the body’s largest organ, performing several functions, including protecting us from invasion by foreign substances and serving as the transfer point for the release of toxins from our bodies. Facials are relaxing, deep skin treatments that cleanse, rehydrate, and rejuvenate the skin, with the added bonus of minimizing skin blemishes, helping to reduce acne, sooth dry skin, and of course, helping reduce the signs of aging. What is a facial?
Facials involve an analysis of the skin, cleansing, exfoliation, steam, massage, and facial mask custom tailored for your individual skin type and concerns. They help remove the dead, dull outer layer of cells whisking away daily pollutants and toxins, resulting in skin the glows with radiance.

How often should I get a facial?
For most skin types it is recommended to get a facial every 4 to 6 weeks. Your skin care therapist can recommend a personalized schedule depending on your skin type and/or conditions.
What are the benefits of getting a facial?

Can I get a facial if I have skin conditions such as Acne, Rosacea, and/or Sensitive skin?

I usually break out after a facial! Why?
Break outs are common after an intense cleansing that includes extraction of blackheads and clogged pores. We take our treatments one step further, helping to prevent these blackouts, by including a short high frequency treatment if needed to reduce any bacteria that may have been disturbed during the extraction process.
What is a High Frequency treatment?
This is a painless method of using violet light to destroy the bacteria present in a blemish, and can help heal existing acne lesions. With 4 to 8 weeks of regular treatments, up to 70% of moderate Acne can be reduced.
My skin is starting to sag, and I am starting to see wrinkles appear in certain areas of my face. Will a facial help me?
Of course! Facials are a great preventative treatment to help you beat wrinkles before they occur. Facials generally include facial massage. This helps to increase blood circulation and relax the facial muscles, which in turn detoxes the skin and helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

A little bit about Permanent Cosmetics
Permanent enhancement cosmetics are an innovative and revolutionary artistic technique. Also known as Micro pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing. This artistic enhancement consists of implanting natural pigments under the superficial layers of the skin. Using a small sterile micro-needle, the natural pigments are inserted between the dermis and the epidermis, creating a lasting cosmetic effect. This technique reflects a visual illusion where hair or color is missing in the following areas: eyebrows, eyeliner/or giving the look of fuller, thicker eyelashes. This technique is very useful in providing color in area’s of the lip’s where natural coloring of the mouth area is missing. Also scar camouflage. Are permanent cosmetics really permanent?
Technically, permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because color is implanted into the upper part of the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, as with any tattoo, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance, color re-enhancement or color re-freshing. Just like hair color, pigment color implanted in the skin may fade with time.

Immediate results
Permanent makeup results in enhanced features of the face—definition is rendered to eyebrows, eyes and lips by the use of colors. Results can imitate topically applied cosmetics or can be quite unnoticeable, depending upon the design, color value and amount of pigment used.
At first, permanent makeup results may look darker. This is due to color remaining in the outermost epidermal layers of skin at the start. Color softens within a few days during the healing process as the upper layers of epidermis slough and are replaced by new epidermal cells.
Long term results
The best possible color results can perform for many years or may begin to fade over time. How much time is individual per person. While permanent makeup pigment remains in the dermis its beauty-span may be influenced by several possible factors. These can be environmental, procedural and/or individual factors. Sun exposure fades color. The amount and color of pigment deposit at the dermal level can affect the length of time that permanent makeup looks its best. Very natural looking applications are likely to require a touch-up before more dramatic ones for this reason. Individual influences include lifestyles that find an individual in the sun regularly such as with gardening or swimming. Skin tones are a factor in color value changes over time.
